How the Life Benefit for Dealers works
Our life benefit for U-Haul Dealers is designed to provide the best balance of coverage, rates, limited underwriting and ease of access from top carriers for actively at work business owners and employees. Plans are available for nearly everyone, ages 20 to 85, with some exceptions.
If you’ve tried to get life insurance and got stuck in the process, or you’ve avoided the whole subject because you thought it was too expensive, this new service may be your answer. Thanks to our affiliate Ethos, the traditional lengthy life insurance approval process is collapsed from weeks to minutes and for most people your new life insurance plan can be issued the same day, or in a few days. Coverage recommendations are the best fit match with the personal and financial information you provide.
If you have had difficulty getting coverage due to health conditions, we may have a simplified or limited benefit life plan that would fit. However, if you have recently been underwritten and had coverage declined or rated up, you may want to seek out a local life insurance professional who has experience in placing life insurance for all types of risk situations who can meet with you personally.
Factors that affect your rate include your age, lifestyle choices (like tobacco use), medical history, and your driving record. You may be asked to schedule a brief phone interview to verify information from your completed application. Most people do not require a medical exam, except for high coverage amounts (such as $1 million) and certain pre-existing health conditions. In these cases, you will see your final rate when your application is approved and you are asked to confirm and activate your new coverage.

Are you unsure about what life insurance product you would need?
Or how much coverage?
You’re in good company. A consumer study just published found that more than half (53%) of adults in the U.S. say they are unsure about what life insurance product they might need or how much coverage to get. Nearly half (47%) say they have put off getting coverage and over a third (36%) say they simply believe they would not qualify for coverage. (2021 Insurance Barometer by LIMRA)
The trends are clear. People are re-thinking their personal protection, including life insurance, due to the pandemic. As a nation, the U.S. in 2020 suffered an historic drop of one full year in life expectancy due to COVID-19 (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Feb. 18, 2021).
In national surveys, 50% of the people responding say they don’t think they have the right amount of life insurance coverage and 33% say they are more likely to purchase coverage due to COVID. Pointing to unfavorable experiences with the life insurance industry, more people say they want to get their coverage online and fewer want to deal with a traditional agent.
