DEVELOPED BASED ON DEALER REQUESTS
The Benefits Program for Authorized U-Haul Dealers was developed internally by U-Haul International over two decades ago in response to Dealer requests for help in this important area of small business operations. The program is completely voluntary and solely for the benefit of U-Haul Dealers.
The importance of employee benefits cannot be understated. They are an essential component of compensation for small business owners and key to attracting and retaining top talent. But businesses must strike a balance between offering competitive benefits and keeping costs under control.
A study by the Pew Research Center (Daily Insurance Report, November 16, 2022) found that “more than half of all Americans believe that employer-provided health insurance is essential to their wellbeing. And it’s not just health insurance that employees value; they also appreciate having access to retirement savings plans, life insurance, and a plethora of other benefits.”
This is the reason U-Haul Dealers who rely on the Authorized Dealer Benefits Program find it so valuable. The program is a voluntary, free-to-use service solely for the benefit of authorized independent U-Haul Dealer business owners and their employees and families. U-Haul does not accept any remuneration in connection with the benefits offered through the program.
ALL VOLUNTARY ‘DO-IT-YOURSELF” BENEFITS
Like U-Haul itself, the Benefits Program for Authorized U-Haul Dealers is a national “do-it-yourself” resource that is designed to provide a full line-up of voluntary health insurance and employee benefit solutions. The program was built and is continually updated based on changes in the marketplace, new technology and requests from U-Haul Dealers. The program is administered for U-Haul by Dealer Benefits Network, LLC and uses advanced online tools and secure digital services supported by our technology and web-broker partner eHealth and our selected benefit providers. No in-person enrollment visits at the worksite are needed.
Dealers who have used the program consider it their “at-the-ready benefits solution” and share the benefits website with business employees so each person can enroll for just the benefits they need. Our goal is to give you the best choices we can find and make them easy to compare on the program’s national private health exchange.
BEST-VALUE BENEFIT PLAN CHOICES
Through our annual due diligence process, we select what we believe are the best value plans currently approved in each state. Health insurance plans and rates are highly regulated by both your state and the federal government. Each year, hundreds of insurers file thousands of plans and rates with state insurance authorities. Rates vary county by county and are not subject to negotiation. So, when you use the Dealer Benefits Program private exchange, your cost will be the same or even may be less when you rely on our carefully selected plans and experienced staff for guidance. You may find plans elsewhere that cost more, but you won’t find plans that cost less.
We know independent U-Haul Dealers run multiple businesses and when it comes to health benefits and insurance, Dealer needs and business requirements vary greatly. Our Dealer Benefits team talks with U-Haul Dealers from almost every state every day about their benefit and insurance needs and we get great feedback from dealers and employees. Our staff is fully trained, registered and certified with federal and state exchanges, carrier appointed and licensed with state insurance authorities.
If you are having trouble getting medical and other important employee benefits, let us help. Dealer Benefits Network LLC brokers with leading companies throughout the United States for health insurance, retirement and employee benefit plans to best meet the needs of U-Haul Dealers.
