You’ve probably heard that the annual government OPEN enrollment period for “qualified” health plan coverage starting on January 1, 2024 closed December 15. These are the individual/family comprehensive major medical insurance plans that are “qualified” under federal regulations to cover pre-existing conditions, preventive care and tax subsidies for lower income households.
But there is still time to check out the top value health and benefit plan selections available on the Dealer Benefits private health and benefits exchange. Life changes may qualify you for a SPECIAL enrollment opportunity mid-year for a “qualified” health plan. Or you can enroll yourself in our Group, Basic and Supplemental health plans throughout the coming year.
Put the Dealer Benefits Program for Authorized U-Haul Dealers to work for you!
We are open and providing health plan choices for U-Haul Dealers and business employees here on the Dealer Benefits Program dedicated “do-it-yourself” benefits website, where you can securely self-enroll after reviewing your selection of sponsored plans, benefit details and prices.

Benefits You Can Use Today –
Group Health Coverage for you and your business employees:
Add a Group Health plan specifically designed for your business and U-Haul dealership. Group health plans are the most popular way U-Haul Dealers solve the problem of providing health coverage for themselves, family members and business employees. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that 86% of private sector employees work at businesses that offer employer-sponsored health insurance. Check out the advantages.
Choices for personal and family coverage:
freshbenies Telehealth and Health Advocate wellness package – Super charge your health benefits with our popular big-company benefit now available to U-Haul Dealers and business employees at our low negotiated pricing. You get a Health Advocate to help you and your family stay healthy at home, plus unlimited no-copay Telehealth doctor visits. freshbenies is not insurance, but it is a great companion to regular health insurance to help you tackle health issues, access the care you need and save on out-of-pocket spending.
Basic Medical, Dental, Vision coverage –
We have a selection of Basic individual/family health insurance plans that provide non-comprehensive benefits that are actually affordable and available for enrollment now and throughout the year. If yours is one of most states that have approved these basic plans, they provide a budget-friendly alternative to expensive comprehensive coverage. If you only need temporary coverage, look for Short Term Medical plans for 3 months of basic coverage. Basic plans cost less, but they DO NOT cover pre-existing conditions. So, they are not for everyone, but may be a better fit to give you the benefits you need within your budget, especially if you’ve missed the government enrollment deadline for comprehensive health plans.
Supplemental plans – for Accidents, Hospital Recovery, Critical Illnesses
Our sponsored Supplemental insurance benefits provide coverage beyond regular health insurance plans, not as a replacement. These plans are available in most, but not all states. They pay cash directly to you, in addition to any other insurance, so you have extra funds to pay for unexpected costs you incur, for services you need when getting care or recovering, and to cover your other health plan deductible, coinsurance and copays.

“Do-It-Yourself” Benefits Program for U-Haul Dealers
It’s a big job. We know one size does not fit all and needs change. So we don’t have one benefit plan for all U-Haul Dealers in all states. We don’t try to make the choice for you. Instead, we strive to give you the best benefits choices we can find in your location so you can “do-it-yourself.”
Each year, thousands of health plans and rates from hundreds of insurance carriers are filed with the state insurance authorities. That’s why we’ve invested the resources and done the due diligence, so when you use the Dealer Benefits Program, we make sure you see and compare the best insurance plans and premium rates available. For over a decade, we have partnered with eHealth to provide the online tools, technology and licensed staff to help us support the health insurance needs of 18,000+ U-Haul Dealers in all 50 states.
So share this message with all your business employees – they are also eligible and can choose their own personal/family plans.
This is a needs-based program offering a full line-up of insurance plans and benefits, built exclusively for U-Haul Dealers in response to U-Haul Dealer requests. Our Dealer Benefits team talks with U-Haul Dealers from almost every state almost every day about their insurance and benefit needs.
I hope you find the Dealer Benefits program works for you and your Authorized U-Haul Dealership.
